All my meds

I just received the last of my medications AND I'm so happy to report that although my Dr. prescribed the 22-23 gauge needle, I sweet talked the pharmacist into sending me 25 gauge and let me tell you there is a HUGE difference. I really believe I will be able to give them to myself now. Can't tell you how over joyed I am!

When I discussed the needle size with the nurse, she stated that the 25 gauge needle is brittle and could break. I will say that the needle is pretty thin considering, but I promise to be extra careful! =) I took one out to practice pushing the oil through and while it was more difficult, it wasn't impossible. I used sunflower oil to practice. I ran it under hot water for a minute and even felt the temp of the oil and it was fine, so I think I'll be fine.

Does anyone have experience using the 25 gauge needle for oil? I've seen one video online about using the 25 gauge and I really think it will save me. So thanks!!

I also received my calendar yesterday and shots start on 3/22, so it's on until then. I'm going to try to enjoy as much wine and girl time as possible until then. I will enjoy every drop!!!

Would love to know if anyone else is getting ready for their first time soon. I would love to give and receive as much support as possible.

Cheers!!

  1. Thanks for following me. I hope we can help each other through this unfortunate situation. I don't have to take Lupron, so I'm not sure about those injections. My needles are 22g. Two of the three shots so far, have not been that bad. I took a xanex and pain meds about an hour before each...I also worked out on those days, I'm not sure if that helped any. I also freeze the area for 5 minutes before my husband does the shot.

He's about to be traveling soon. I hope I don't have to give myself shots. My next step is to pick a donor. I think after my next shot, I take the progesterone and then maybe birth control pills to get me synced up with the donor. I should know more next week, when we finally talk to the doctor about all our results and what to expect. It really sucks not knowing. I too scour the internet night after night.

    Good luck with everything.
